What if I don't have a dog; can I still join the walk?

Of course! If you love animals (cats, parrots, horses, fish, reptiles, donkey or anything else...) you are welcome to just make a donation and join us for the walk! In fact - we hope you will!

Is the walk safe?

Registration for the walk implies the understanding that you are responsible for your own safety and that of your dependants.  If some dogs (or humans) are deemed to have aggressive behavior, they will be requested to leave by the event coordinator's. If your dog (or child) does not do well with other dogs or children, or you don't control your pet well on a leash we ask that you attend without your pooch. Paws 'n Cause is not responsible for your safety or that of your children or pet.  Please keep in mind that many dogs, of all shapes, breeds and sizes, will be in attendance. We recommend you keep a tight watch on your charges.

Can't I just give Paws 'n Cause a check?

Paws 'n Cause is simply an event coordinator, as such at this time we do not manage or accept responsibility for the funds.  Donations are to be made directly to the charity via PayPal, or any other method they allow. Instructions on how to do so will always be featured on the Current Events page.

Can I make a donation and not participate on the walk?

Absolutely! Although we encourage as many people as possible to walk with us, we understand that there may be reasons (such as being out of town) that prevent you from joining us.  Every penny counts and we are more than happy to encourage you do donate. To that end we will always include information on how to donate to the cause on the Current Event page.

We are a large family, how many people must register for the walk to participate; what about children?

Charity is really individual, so it is really up to you to decide what you are comfortable with.  At a minimum, one family member must be registered and a donation made to participate. Since this is about raising funds, we recommend that each adult register, but this is simply a suggestion, partners will not be turned away if they have not donated or registered for the walk.

Are you a registered charity?

No.  Paws 'n Cause is an event coordinating organization volunteering for a selected charity, we do not collect funds directly, your donation is always made directly to the charity.  However, Paws 'n Cause will always choose a charity that is registered so that you may benefit from the tax rebate (when applicable) and have peace of mind concerning the legitimacy of the selected charity.

What if I want to donate to Paws 'n Cause specifically?

Our focus at this time, is for all donations to go to the selected charity, not to the maintenance of Paws 'n Cause.  We would ask that you volunteer your time, skills or even better open a chapter in your area or simply help us spread the word. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us.

I am part of a socially-responsible company who would like to sponsor your walk or provide promotional material, how can I do that?

Please contact us, we would be glad to have you on board to help us and are proud of all the socially-responsible companies we partner with.

How do you select your charity, may I make a suggestion?

All charities must be registered, must deal with companion pets and must be in dire need of assistance. Please contact us if you wish to make a suggestion.  Please note that the fall walk must be an organization outside your own country and will be taken up by all Paws 'n Cause chapters.  The spring walk is to focus on a charity in need in your very own area and is at the discretion of your local Chapter Lead (Top Dog) if one exists.

Are there any restrictions?

Paws 'n Cause requests that you keep it to two dogs maximum per owner.  In addition, dogs must be on a leash (no longer than 6 feet) at all times.  Unfortunately, for safety reasons no cats or other pets are allowed. Aggressive dogs will be turned away. Dogs in heat are not allowed. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Waiver must be signed and e-mailed prior to the event or a paper copy handed to a coordinator.
